On Saturday March 26 ....

I marched in solidarity with unions from all over L.A. that were protesting the attacks on unions over in Wisconsin. If it happened there then it can happen anywhere. It was exciting to see bus loads of people arrive ready to march with flags and signs in hand. During the march, I walked with the car wash workers trying to unionize themselves here in L.A.

After getting some lunch at home, I participated and lead an exploratory bike ride in Boyle Heights for Ciclavia. A group of us went around traversing hills and signal lights for possible route extensions that go further into BH for the October Ciclavia. It was a great ride and there was an even better turn out of peeps.

After the ride, I met up with a friend to go a print sale at "La Mano Graphica." And art space in Lincoln Heights Shared my amazing etching/lino cut artist. Artemio Rodriguez runs the space. I met up with a few other friends there and we all shared some great conversations about the art up on the walls with the artist that created them. My favorite piece is the one shown above, a scene taken from one of my all time favorite mangas, "Lone Wolf and Cub." Art by Jose Hernandez

From the gallery we rode our bikes to a party celebrating the dropped cases of all the folks who participated in civil disobedience actions last year in L.A. There was great food, great people and great music all night long. By 11 p.m. it felt like it was already 2 a.m. Ironically I ended up going home at 2 a.m. in the rain. It was a great day to say the least.
